Rev. Jesse Edwards, President of the American Clergy Leadership Conference, delivers remarks at a press briefing in from of the Japanese Consulate in New York City. Human rights leaders joined to protest the Japanese government's inaction in stopping the abduction and deprogramming of religious minorities.

Rev. Michael Jenkins, Chairman of the American Clergy Leadership Conference, speaks outside the Japanese Consulate in New York City, where human rights demonstrators gathered to protest injustices in Japan regarding religious freedom. The protestors delivered a letter to the Consulate requesting a meeting to get the Japanese government to act, which it has not been doing.

Human rights leaders gathered in front of the Japan Consulate in New York City to protest the Japan's inaction in confronting abductions and attempted de-programming of religious minorities. Famed civil rights leader Dr. Luonne Rouse, United Methodist Church Pastor, delivered remarks. He was supported by Luke Higuchi and several other victims. Dr. Rouse and other leaders then delivered a letter of protest to the Japanese Ambassador and Consul General.
